Town Board sets 2026 compensation, table Code Enforcement reappointment

NY CATHARINE — Town Board approves 2026 compensation package with one dissenting vote. The board voted 3-1 on Resolution 92-2025, with Supervisor Richard Lewis dissenting, to set compensation for all town positions and establish official banking and newspaper designations for 2026. In unanimous votes, the board raised the Deputy Clerk salary to $17.50 per hour upon hire and $18 per hour after meeting requirements, appointed Town Clerk Kellie Kretchmer as Vital Statistics Registrar at $1,000 annually, and reappointed Roger Smalley as Zoning Board of Appeals chair and Chris Conolly to the Planning Board for five-year terms.

Code Enforcement Officer position clarification was deferred to January pending attorney input.
