NY CATHARINE — Catharine Town Board approves temporary operator hire and speed reduction request. Supervisor Richard Lewis led the board to unanimous approval of Resolution 37-2026, hiring a temporary motor equipment operator to fill a vacant highway position. The board also unanimously passed Resolution 40-2026, requesting Schuyler County reduce the speed limit on County Road 10 from 55 mph to 45 mph in response to resident Jennifer Owlett's request.
The board separately reaffirmed support for establishing a Fire District with the Village of Odessa, requesting assistance recruiting three Catharine residents to serve on the district's board.
