Board directs study of wind farm legislation

NY CATHARINE — Catharine town board directs planning board to study wind farm legislation following public comment. Members of the public Molly Dunton, Kyle Edele, and Luis Almeida spoke to Supervisor Richard Lewis and the Town Board about Bedrock Renewables LLC's early-stage project planned for neighboring Hector, which would include 14 to 16 turbines with construction expected in 2029 or 2030. The board unanimously passed Resolution 14-2026 directing the Planning Board to investigate potential wind farm legislation.
The board also unanimously authorized payment of bills totaling $22,777.51 and voted 4-0 to establish six-hour standard workdays for Building Inspector Anthony Nevone and Bookkeeper Becki Wheeler.
